HUD Manufactured Housing Installer Bond
This bond is a relatively new requirement issued by Housing and Urban Development. It is effective in thirteen states for Manufactured Home Installation. In these states, both a bond and insurance are required of installers. The bond is valued at $10,000. The purpose of this bond is to ensure minimum installation standards for safety and quality. The requirement was passed in 2000 and was not implemented until 2015. The bond is required for licensure in the designated states. HUD requires registration for both installers and those responsible for their training.
